Art For Impact™

Art is not just for wallsit is for worlds.

We activate art as a force for cultural and systemic change — carrying artists' voices into the rooms where decisions about the future are made and implemented.

Portraits of the Subconscious

More than simply an exhibition space, it was a place to celebrate artists who channel the subconscious through their work, curated for those who are ready to listen to the quiet voices of nature and the subconscious, who both speak the language of the original AI (Ancient Intelligence).

How it actually works

Four pillars carry the work from the studio into the room where it can change something.

01

Artists as Messengers

The ineffable is spoken through paint. We carry those messages into rooms artists rarely reach.

02

Art as Communion

A painting is a place two strangers can stand together and share a feeling before anything else.

03

Stewardship of Capital

Capital that moves toward what art already knows matters — regenerative, scalable solutions in service to all life.

04

Impact in Action

Allowing art to move from the studio to supporting the front lines of the regenerative movement.

The message

“An artist's role is to be a steward of the truth.”

Vaughn Bergen · President, Bergen Family Foundation · Climate Week, New York · 2025 · Board of COVEN · Forte Impact Advisors · Fourth generation, ACA Galleries, founded 1932

The work

With time, space, and capital, we carry the messages of the artists the world most needs to hear, and support them in their mission to make an impact beyond the canvas.

  1. 01Residencies On repurposed or donated land, we offer creatives the time, space and resources needed to make their greatest masterpiece.
  2. 02Exhibitions spaces to truly listen to what a work has to say, and to entrain to the consciousness the artist achieved in its creation.
  3. 03Endowments that do not spend down — capital that keeps moving instead of running out.
  4. 04Placement in the rooms where decisions actually get made — the same figures that carry a message on canvas, carrying it again into a boardroom.

For family offices and foundations

A pipeline built for capital that wants to move with purpose.

We work alongside family offices and foundations to place gifts and grants to amplify an artist's message and impact — through residencies, exhibitions, and endowments that keep working instead of spending down.

Art For Impact is a programme of the Bergen Family Foundation. Contributions are gifts; our 501(c)(3) status is pending, and a tax receipt will follow once it is granted.

The cycle

An artist's message is not a straight line on a page. It becomes impact through four turns of a circle.

A painter's role is to illuminate the truth, even the most challenging ones. We carry that light and amplify it, and bring it into spaces poised to act upon it. Capital moves the direction the work was already pointing. And the success of one mission funds the message of the next artist. That's the cycle — not a donation, a current.

In the artist's hands

Introducing Irene Hardwicke Olivieri as our inaugural artist.

Irene spent decades creating art for and often with the support of the plants and animals she speaks for, writing the message of the voiceless directly onto her medium of choice.

She embodies the spirit of the foundation, by creating art with a clear purpose that goes far beyond what walls can hold. She was the obvious first chair, and we're grateful for her work and her voice and for all those whom she speaks for. More of her work →
